Where time slows, stories deepen, and family roots run strong.
Nestled between the peaks and olive groves of Abruzzo, our family farm isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to remember. For ten generations, this land has been lovingly tended by the de Pompeis family, and each stone, tree, and trail holds a story waiting to be shared.

The land itself tells its own story—archaeological remains from the Bronze Age, ancient Roman columns, and prehistoric menhirs rise quietly from the earth. These relics are not behind glass. They’re part of the garden, the walkways, the view from your breakfast table.
Long before our family called it home, this was a place of rest and passage: a coach inn in the 1600s, offering fresh horses and warm food to travelers crossing central Italy. Its stone walls and Moorish arches still hold the whispers of those journeys.
The de Pompeis family has lived on and worked this land for over ten generations. What was once an agricultural estate has grown—organically, intentionally—into a home for travelers, artists, families, and seekers of all kinds.
Lorenzo is a scholar, a sociologist proudly converted to agriculture, a guardian of tradition and nature. He has restored the land with deep respect for its ecological rhythms, reviving heritage grains, and cultivating a landscape that heals as it feeds. One of his dreams to realize is to recover ancient plants, to make them coexist virtuously with free-living animals, mixing everything with the beauty and art of the landscape.
Caterina brings soul and spirit to the Borgo. Her background in the arts, culture, and education is woven into the atmosphere here: in the design of the spaces, in the joyful gatherings under the pergola, and in her deep welcome to each guest.
Together—with the help of their dedicated staff, and dog, Polpetta—Lorenzo and Caterina have created something truly rare: a working family farm that feels like a small enchanted village.
“All of this beauty has also been shaped by the love of our guests—our friends—who, over the years, have stood beside us through dreams, passions, and even moments of doubt.
We wouldn’t have come this far without you.”
With all our hearts,
Lorenzo and Caterina
The residences are not hotel rooms. Each residence is part of the original structures—barns, stables, wine cellars, and storied corners of the old buildings that have been lovingly restored over the past twenty-five years.
There are nine residences, divided into four categories—from the cozy Regular to the unique Special apartments, including the Romantic Torretta, once a hay silo and now a dreamy two-floor nest with views of the garden and Moorish loggia.
Each unit is independent, with its own entrance, garden, and outdoor dining space. You’ll find antique furniture, modern kitchens, fireplaces, and deep stone walls that keep the rooms cool in summer and warm in winter.
The central courtyard, with its 19th-century arches, is a favorite gathering place at dusk, lit softly as the sky turns golden over the mountains.
